well soundwise, (i'm not talking spacifically metal) A perfect Circle, anything off the Gueen of the d**ned Soundtrack (that was one of the greatest metal albums i have ever heard!!!) maybe even the cure (once again not metal i know, but the sound is somthing i like in my music) like i've said i really don't listen to much metal, but the metal i do listen to is more modern bands like Disturbed, and then metal like Dargaard that have a mystic sort of new age quality ... and you call bands like Kamelot and Rhapsody generic? That's way off my friend. How can one call those bands generic when bands such as Disturbed and A Perfect Circle have extremely simple and repetitive song structures? If you're going to call bands generic, at least be sure you can argue the point better.

plus you should undestand i realy don't listen to metal regularly. i don't like allot of heavy music, so i listen more to lighter, more melodic metal. I listen mostly to new age, celtic, techno. the only really incredibly heavy music i can handle in large doses is Rave music (god that stuff is awesome ) that being said. most metal is a bit too heavy, and allot of the more "generic" american bands, and most of what i've heard with dargaard, and dominion 3 has a bit more melody to it, instead of those crazy electric guitar riffs, that put me in mind of "bill and ted's excellent adventure" (no offence)

listen more to lighter, more melodic metal. This is odd as Disturbed is far from being light or melodic. The bands I listed are all classified under the melodic metal classification. Oh well, apparently neither of us are going to understand the other perspective.
